Happy birthday to my friend (and blog-reader) Mary! A true lover of the outdoors, the mountains, and climbing, she was surprised with this cake on her birthday. How appropriate!

Skiing

Feeling my Colorado roots today, finally skiing with all of my own equipment. I have skied many times before, but each time with rented or borrowed gear. The extra steps of renting or borrowing equipment are time consuming and make the process much more frustrating. Today, on the other hand, was a fantastic change for better. I simply grabbed my gear, bought a lift ticket, and skied the day away. Although the amount of snow on the Colorado slopes is pretty slim this season, it was nonetheless a spectacular day spent skiing with good friends.

Gift exchange

Today I exchanged gifts with my friends. We munched on the cookies I made the other night and the peppermint bark Gracy made (soon to be blogged about when I give it a try!) and gave each other little presents.

I gave the girls knitted headbands with crocheted flowers!

Tea With The Girls

Highlight of my day: dinner at Dushanbe Tea House with my girls! Friends from high school and new friends too, plus super yummy food!

I had a delicious dinner of Indian samosa and ginger mango tea. Such a treat!
