Great morning

With the recent "fall back" time change, I have become so much more productive in the mornings!

It's not nearly as hard as it used to be to wake up early and exercise. I am especially loving this quick routine for mornings, and it usually inspires me to actually visit the gym before class!

Phoebe the fish

Today I brought home a new addition to our family! Just like Neville, this betta came from my Animal Behavior class (when I got Neville I was a student, this year I am a TA).

Now, if I was a really great fish mother, she would have come home to one of these tanks:

Unfortunately, she is living in a rather plain tank instead.

Isn't she cute?

Eggplant pasta

Dinner tonight was eggplant pasta. I found the recipe here, but I substituted vodka sauce for the tomato sauce called for. Went perfectly with the eggplant.

Cinnamon sugar Crescent rolls

 Cinnamon sugar Crescent rolls!
To make:

Unwrap a roll of Pillsbury Crescent rolls and place them on a greased baking sheet.

Brush with butter and sprinkle with copious amounts of cinnamon and sugar.

Roll up and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon and sugar for good measure.

Bake at 375 until browned (about 8 minutes), let cool, and enjoy!

Starbucks study-date

So close to the weekend! In order to motivate myself through a Thursday with a full to-do list, a Starbucks study-date with a friend was in order! Mmmmmm peppermint mocha to get me through!

Oranges and cloves

I can't get the smell of oranges and cloves off my hands, not that I'm complaining! The house smells delicious tonight, thanks to the combination of oranges and cloves. It's really such a fantastic smell, embodies fall and winter perfectly.

In case you have never made them before, they are super simple. Basically you push cloves into the peel of an orange. It does help to punch holes into the oranges where you are going to place the cloves first with a needle, pencil tip, whatever is convenient. That's it!
