Gift exchange

Today I exchanged gifts with my friends. We munched on the cookies I made the other night and the peppermint bark Gracy made (soon to be blogged about when I give it a try!) and gave each other little presents.

I gave the girls knitted headbands with crocheted flowers!

Cowl

Finally finished my cowl! LOVE it, so comfy and soft!

Here it is, worn two ways. There are buttons in both corners but it is pretty hard to tell in the pictures.
I used a full skein of yarn, alternating rows of 30 knits and 30 purls.

It was inspired by this one.

Tiny hats

Received an e-mail from the hospital that I volunteer at, apparently they are in need of tiny knitted or crocheted hats for the PICU. Seems I have found my calling!

Autumn

Despite the season still officially summer until Friday, fall has arrived in my mind. My day was full of little signs telling my five senses that the season is changing.

On my way home I saw these leaves beginning to change color at their edges...

...I heard my bike crunch through the fallen leaves...

...I smelled my amazing Autumn candle from Slatkin & Co. ...

...I tasted the first warm chai I've had in a very long time...

...and finally, I felt the soft scarf that I am knitting in anticipation of the colder weather to come.

Happy almost fall!
